The Mines — Key Milestones
Floor 40 marks the transition from stone caves to icy caverns. The environment shifts to blue ice and frost. A mine elevator shortcut unlocks here.
Rewards: Iron Ore becomes common · Frozen Geodes start dropping · Elevator to floor 40
Copper veins become less common. Start watching for iron. Slimes turn blue.
Floor 80 shifts to magma caves with lava flows and more dangerous enemies. A second elevator shortcut unlocks here.
Rewards: Gold Ore becomes common · Magma Geodes start dropping · Elevator to floor 80
Gold veins are your main target. Bring fire-resistant gear if available.
A Skeleton enemy on floor 100 drops the Skull Key. This unlocks access to Skull Cavern in the Calico Desert.
Rewards: Skull Key
The Skull Key is a one-time drop. You don't need to fight the Skeleton in any special way — it just drops on defeat.
The very bottom of The Mines. A chest with a rare reward awaits. The Dwarf lives on floor 80 and can be talked to once you learn Dwarvish.

Collect all four Dwarf Scrolls (from rock monsters) to get the Dwarvish Translation Guide from the museum, which lets you talk to the Dwarf.
Skull Cavern
An infinite dungeon in the Calico Desert. The deeper you go, the more Iridium Ore you find. Floor 100 is Mr. Qi's challenge target. No elevators — use stairs and bombs to descend fast.
- •Bring Mega Bombs or many regular bombs to break large rock clusters quickly.
- •Stack Spicy Eel, Coffee, or Pumpkin Soup for speed and luck buffs.
- •Iridium Ore is abundant past floor 40–50; Prismatic Shards appear at 100+.
- •Purple Slimes can drop Iridium Ore — don't ignore them.
- •A Lucky day (fortune teller TV channel) significantly increases ore and ladder drops.
